What is THCP?

THCP, full name Tetrahydrocannabiphorol, is a new cannabinoid that was discovered in 2019 by Italian scientists. THCP occurs naturally in small amounts in cannabis sativa plants. However, its natural occurrence is not sufficient enough to pay off the extraction of this cannabinoid directly from the plant. It is for this reason that THCP is obtained in larger quantities in the laboratory using chemical processes.
